How I work:
Our first meeting will be an assessment session - I will be asking about what brought you to therapy, a range of past and current difficulties, as well as your interests, social connections, and goals. Following sessions will typically start with creating a collaborative agenda so that you know what the session will look like. We will work together to understand your difficulties, strengths, and perspectives in order to develop meaningful goals, and plan for practical strategies for change and growth. My approach will always be flexible and integrative to best suit your needs. I will always try to have a plan for you to work on in between sessions.
I believe trust and rapport are essential part of treatment and bring my genuine personality to our sessions. I take an intersectional approach, acknowledging that the different systems and contexts that we exist in strongly impact our well-being, sense of identity, and experience of mental health. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space that is affirming and respectful of diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to gender, sexual orientation, racial, cultural, ability, and class identities.
